Gökçeada Municipality at Historical Cities Union Meeting in Ankara

Our Mayor, Mr. Bülent Ecevit Atalay, and our Municipal Council Member, Attorney Şirin Özay, attended the program held in Ankara, the capital of our Republic, as part of the Historical Cities Union's 2026 Ordinary First Union Assembly Meeting.

The program, organized with the aim of preserving cultural heritage and carrying historical cities into the future through a shared vision of common sense, solidarity, and collaborative production, brought together mayors, council members, architects, experts, and stakeholders dedicated to cultural heritage.

Over the two-day program, the Union Assembly meeting and elections were held. As a result of the elections, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş was re-elected as the President of the Historical Cities Union.

We congratulate Mr. Mansur Yavaş and wish him success in his new term.
